Ron Kaiser
Director, Vocus/OPNET Technologies, Inc.
Ron Kaiser has more than 30 years experience in public and private finance, accounting and operations management and has served as CFO for companies in the information technology, life sciences and high tech manufacturing sectors. As a CFO, Mr. Kaiser has managed several acquisitions and has participated in raising over $650 million in private and public financing through initial public offerings and follow-on financings, taking 5 of the companies through their initial public offerings in the process. He currently serves as audit committee chair and compensation committee member of the Board of Directors for Vocus Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:VOCS), a Software and a Service provider of news management and analysis, and as a member of the Board of Directors and compensation and audit committee for OPNET Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ; OPNT); a Network management and modeling software company. He also serves as an independent Director for MobileAccess, Inc., a venture backed provider of wireless in-building solutions and as a managing director of the Chesapeake Innovation Center, a Maryland incubator serving the Homeland Security and National Security Industries, as well as other for-profit and not-for-profit entities. Ron has been nominated as a “CFO of the Year” four times in the Mid-Atlantic region, named a finalist two times, and received the “Community Service” award in 2001. The Jan/Feb 1999 issue of Tech Capital magazine named him one of the East Coast’s Top CFOs.
Ron has been an instructor and seminar speaker for over fifty AICPA and state CPA society programs on internal control procedures and C.O.S.O., operations management, and IT security and participated in a number of regional and national panels on the IPO process and on Public Reporting, including a 2007 NYC “IPO Boot Camp” program sponsored by NASDAQ. In 2007, he also
served as a representative CFO spokesperson for small cap industry companies in transition meet-ings with the PCAOB on AS 5. His early professional years were spent on the audit and tax staff of Deloitte, Haskins, & Sells (Now Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu), where his audit assignments focused on first-time and acquisition engagements and on computer generated auditing programs.
Ron has B.A. degrees in pre-law social psychology & accounting from Michigan State University, where he graduated with high honors. He is married with two children and serves on the Board of Directors for the Annapolis Area Christian School, where he is active in foundation and development activities. His family has served as a sponsor in the US Naval Academy Midshipmen Program.
